Dh37 Billion Market Cap Added as UAE Indices Surge Through August
UAE stock exchanges added Dh37 billion in market capitalisation throughout August 2026 as benchmark indices across Dubai and Abu Dhabi recorded steady upward momentum. Financial sector equities spearheaded the monthly expansion, drawing increased liquidity to domestic trading floors despite ongoing regional uncertainties.
Banking Equities Push Abu Dhabi Market Capitalisation to Dh2.92 Trillion
The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange General Index rose 0.086 percent to close at 10,044.52 points, bringing the overall market capitalisation of ADX-listed companies to Dh2.920 trillion. Single-session trading activity reached 24,052 executed transactions involving 484 million shares with a total turnover of Dh1.5 billion.
Banking stocks accounted for much of the positive movement on the capital exchange. First Abu Dhabi Bank advanced 1.13 percent while Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank gained 0.77 percent, supported by board approval for a proposed Dh1.75 billion rights issue. Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank posted a slight decline of 0.13 percent. Parallel gains recorded on the Dubai Financial Market contributed to the combined Dh37 billion valuation increase across both emirates over the month.
The August expansion follows broader growth trends across domestic exchanges, where average daily trading volume grew by 24.16 percent in 2025 to reach Dh2.21 billion.
