Rain and Strong Winds Sweep UAE in Unstable Weather Until Sept 7
The National Centre of Meteorology reported that parts of the UAE will experience varying degrees of rainfall, strong winds, and changing atmospheric conditions extending through Monday, September 7. Commuters and residents across eastern and southern regions face reduced visibility, blowing dust, and localized convective cloud formations carrying heavy rain, thunderstorms, and potential hail.
Temperatures Peak Near 47°C Amid Fog and Rough Seas
Temperatures across the country will continue to reach highs of up to 47°C, with Abu Dhabi registering peaks up to 46°C and Dubai reaching up to 44°C. The NCM issued red and yellow fog alerts, citing mist formation over coastal and internal areas during night and early morning hours. Winds ranging between 10 to 25 kmph, gusting up to 40 kmph, will shift from northwesterly to southwesterly, driving blowing dust westward and affecting visibility on local roadways.
Sea conditions will remain slight to moderate, turning rough at times in western parts of the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Looking ahead to seasonal shifts, the NCM also flagged the possibility of an El Niño influence during the coming winter months.
