Dubai Police impounded 13,657 e-scooters in 2026 up to early September, as part of an intensified crackdown on reckless riding.

What Police Are Targeting

• Speeding above 60 km/h on public roads.
• Riding on pavements and through markets.
• Crossing roads dangerously or weaving between lanes.
• Riding outside approved zones.
• Carrying passengers or items that could cost you your balance.
• Using a phone or dual headsets.
• Leaving scooters outside designated parking, or riding too close to pedestrians.

Gear and Equipment

Wear a helmet and reflective clothing, especially at night. Your scooter needs a white front light and reflector, a red rear light and reflector, a horn and working brakes.
