A 1,197hp Floating SUV Just Joined the Dubai Police Tourist Patrol Fleet
Visitors and residents walking along Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, taking photos near the Burj Khalifa, or strolling through Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) will soon spot a new addition to the neighborhood.
What to Expect Around Downtown and JBR
Dubai Police have added the electric-powered Yangwang U8 to their luxury tourist patrol fleet following its unveiling at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2026) at Dubai World Trade Centre. Introduced in partnership with Al-Futtaim Automotive Group, the high-performance SUV boasts 1,197 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and features a 360-degree rotation capability alongside emergency flotation designed to keep it moving through water during flood events.
Rather than serving strictly for emergency responses, officers stationed with the vehicle will act as an approachable contact point across high-footfall tourist hubs. Brigadier Saeed Al Hajri, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, explained that the patrol gives residents and visitors a direct way to ask questions, request assistance, and learn about police services right on the pavement. The arrival of the electric SUV reflects the force’s focus on integrating advanced automotive tech and environmentally friendly vehicles into daily community engagement.
