No Bib Means No Entry: How to Register and Prepare for Sunday's Dubai Ride
Sheikh Zayed Road will replace cars with bicycles on Sunday, November 1, as Dubai Ride returns for the opening weekend of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. While entry to the event is completely free, cyclists cannot simply turn up on the morning with a bike.
Official Dubai Fitness Challenge guidelines state that mandatory advance registration and physical bib collection are required for safety and security reasons. Anyone arriving without an official bib will be turned away from the entry gates.
How to Register and Collect Your Bib
Every adult rider must register individually on the official Dubai Fitness Challenge website by signing in via email, Google, or Facebook. Group registrations are not supported, though parents or legal guardians can register up to three children under 18 and must accept a waiver on their behalf. During sign-up, you must select your route and start gate carefully, as selections cannot be edited once submitted without cancelling the registration entirely and starting over.
After completing the online form, you will receive a registration QR code. You must present this QR code at the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park to collect your physical bib and optional free event T-shirt. Bib collection runs from Wednesday, October 28, to Saturday, October 31, with specific collection hours provided during online registration. Family members or friends can pick up your bib for you if they present your QR code, but lost bibs cannot be replaced, if you misplace yours, you must cancel, re-register, and collect a new one before Sunday.
Choosing Your Route and Planning Your Schedule
Riders can select between two distinct courses based on their experience and group profile:
- 12km Sheikh Zayed Road Route: Built for experienced cyclists, this challenging course passes the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, and Burj Khalifa. It features five entry points: Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay, and Lower Financial Street. Cyclists on this route must finish at the specific gate linked to their chosen start point.
- 4km Downtown Family Route: Designed for children, families, and casual riders, this flat loop travels past Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and Burj Khalifa.
Approved Bikes and Accessibility
Road bikes, hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, children’s bikes, tandem bikes, and pedal-assisted e-bikes in good working condition are permitted on both routes. Children may ride in attached bike seats or trailers.
All minors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. People of Determination are provided dedicated entry points suited for adapted bicycles, handcycles, and tandem bikes, with specific access details shared during the registration process.
