US Probes Intelligence Report of Chinese Spy Operation Targeting Nvidia CEO
The United States government is actively investigating intelligence reports that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was targeted in a Chinese espionage operation. Tech sector leaders and semiconductor market observers are closely monitoring federal efforts after US President Donald Trump confirmed authorities are examining potential information leaks tied to a Singapore-based data center executive.
Federal Authorities Examine Intelligence Linking Singapore Data Center Executive to Beijing
US intelligence officials concluded that a Chinese executive linked to a Singapore-based data center company funneled sensitive information to Beijing following interactions with Huang. China has dismissed the report as groundless speculation. Speaking from his Florida residence, Trump confirmed the ongoing inquiry, describing Huang as a brilliant business leader while stating the administration intends to examine the matter very closely before making determinations on his continued role advising on national artificial intelligence policy.
Huang previously joined Trump during an official delegation to Beijing in May to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping while advocating for the continued export of American semiconductors to China.
