Kuwait Visa Fee Now KD150 for Residency Conversion
Kuwait has introduced a KD150 fee for converting visit visas into regular residency permits, effective immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette. This amendment to the Foreigners Residence Law aims to update the country’s residency procedures. The new regulation applies to all visit-to-residency conversions, except for domestic workers who are exempt from the fee.
The Ministry of Interior announced the changes through Decision No. 1091 of 2026, which amends provisions of Ministerial Decision No. 2249 of 2025 governing the law’s executive regulations. The amendment adds a new clause to Article 39, requiring applicants to pay KD150 when converting a visit entry visa into a regular residence permit.
Individuals who wish to convert their visit visas into residency permits will need to pay the KD150 fee. Domestic workers and those in equivalent categories are exempt from this fee. The relevant authorities have been instructed to implement the amendments within their respective jurisdictions.
