Ronaldo Reunites with Al Nassr Squad in Lisbon
Cristiano Ronaldo has reunited with his Al Nassr teammates for the first time since Portugal’s exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 41-year-old attended the squad’s 2-0 pre-season friendly loss to Almeria in Lisbon, but has not yet resumed full training with the Saudi Pro League champions. Ronaldo greeted his teammates and newly appointed head coach Ange Postecoglou before the match, marking his first meeting with the squad since Portugal’s round-of-16 exit.
Al Nassr concluded their pre-season training camp in Lisbon with the defeat to Almeria, and will now prepare for the 2026-27 campaign. Ronaldo, who joined Al Nassr in January 2023, played a key role in ending the club’s seven-year wait for the Saudi Pro League title last season. He has also finished as the league’s top scorer in each of the last two campaigns.
The club’s pre-season camp ended on a disappointing note, with Almeria securing a comfortable 2-0 victory. The Spanish outfit took control of the game after halftime, opening the scoring in the 51st minute and doubling their advantage with a penalty around 10 minutes later.
Cristiano Ronaldo is also reportedly set to marry his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez this Saturday in Madeira, Portugal. This personal development comes as Ronaldo prepares for another season with Al Nassr, aiming to build on the success of the previous campaign.
This reunion in Lisbon follows Portugal’s World Cup exit, where they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain on July 6. Ronaldo’s return to training and the upcoming season will be closely watched, given his importance to the team and his individual achievements in the Saudi Pro League.
