
Up to Dh350,000 for Home Damage After a Crisis or Disaster
Cabinet Resolution No. 135 of 2026, in effect since 15 August 2026, lets eligible UAE nationals claim up to Dh350,000 per case for damage to their home from a crisis or disaster. It replaces the earlier disaster-relief framework under Resolution No. 22 of 2008.
Who can claim
- UAE nationals who are permanent residents and already receive federal social support or local government assistance.
- The damaged home must be in the UAE.
- You need an official damage report from a competent emergency, civil defence or government authority.
- The damage must come from external factors affecting five homes or fewer, as the resolution defines a crisis or disaster.
What is covered and what is not

How to claim
- Get the official damage report from the competent authority.
- Submit your application and documents to the Ministry of Community Empowerment within 30 days of the crisis or disaster.
- The ministry must decide within seven working days. No reply counts as a rejection.
- If you are refused or underpaid, file a grievance within 15 days. The committee has 30 days to decide, and its ruling is final.
