Some UAE addresses were already at capacity within days
Demand for Starlink was heavy as soon as the service launched on 3 September 2026. For a number of addresses, Starlink’s order page showed the message “Starlink service is currently at capacity” instead of letting the customer activate service.
Where it was reported
Dubai and Abu Dhabi were listed as at capacity in reports on the launch. Specific areas named by residents included Mirdif and Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, Al Quoz in Dubai and Al Majaz in Sharjah. Capacity is allocated by coverage area, so the result depends on your address, and a neighbouring building can get a different answer.
How the waitlist works
- The order page offers a deposit to reserve a place. It was shown as Dh285.71 under “Deposit Due Today”, an estimate that can change once your address is verified.
- The deposit is credited toward the Dh1,465 kit price.
- You are notified when service opens at your address.
- Starlink gave no timeframe and said it was working to increase capacity.
What to do next
Check your address on the official Starlink website before paying for anything beyond the deposit. If you need a connection sooner, see how Starlink stacks up against e& and du home internet, and read the price guide for the full cost.
