MOFA Attestation: How to Apply Online and What It Costs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attests UAE documents through its website and the UAE MOFA app. Most applicants now finish the whole process online and receive the document by courier.
Steps for Paper Documents
- Check that the original is not laminated and carries the stamps required by the relevant ministry (Education, Health or Justice).
- Sign in to the MOFA website or app with UAE PASS and select the document type.
- Enter your contact and delivery details, and choose a courier provider and a pickup time.
- Pay online and submit. The courier collects the document and brings it back once attested.

Courier fees of AED 40 to AED 150 (excluding VAT) may apply on top. Commercial documents are charged at a higher rate, and the exact total is shown before you pay. Commercial invoices and certificates of origin use a separate MOFA service.
Document Rules
Documents must be in Arabic or English, or come with a legally certified translation. Foreign-issued documents usually need legalisation in the home country and attestation by the UAE embassy there before MOFA will attest them.
