Low-cost carrier Wizz Air has announced its return to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, bringing flights back to the UAE one year after shuttering its local subsidiary in September 2025. Regional travelers gain access to 49 weekly flights across 12 routes connecting the UAE, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.
Network expansion restores key Middle East corridors across four regional hubs
The revived service spans four cities, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, and Amman, with 49 weekly operations distributed across 12 total routes. Wizz Air confirmed the network restoration directly to passengers, though specific route pairings, daily flight timings, individual city frequency splits, and official launch dates have not yet been released. Flights will be operated using the group’s European airline divisions rather than a UAE-domiciled carrier.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, established in 2020 as a joint venture with state holding company ADQ, closed its local operations in September 2025 after citing geopolitical instability, regional operational hurdles, and severe engine reliability issues caused by hot climate conditions.
