Global Tactical Teams Head to Al Ruwayyah for 5-Day Event
Training City in Al Ruwayyah is getting ready to host police tactical squads from across the globe as registration officially opens for the UAE SWAT Challenge 2027. The eighth edition of the international gathering will run from January 23 to 27, 2027, bringing special police units and rapid intervention teams together at the outer Dubai facility.
Public Spectator Access and Five Days of Tactical Competition
The Organising Committee has urged competing units to complete their registration early, giving squads the necessary lead time to build up to peak operational readiness. Over five straight days, participating teams will tackle five separate challenges built to stress-test their physical stamina, technical skills, and field coordination under strict scoring conditions.
Daily performances directly feed into an overall leaderboard, with the highest cumulative point score taking the tournament title at the end of the final stage. The venue also doubles as a practical learning forum where units compare rapid intervention methods and benchmark their own response capabilities against peers from around the world.
Local residents and fans won’t be watching from afar, as the event grounds will be open to public spectators throughout the five-day run.
The competition previously secured Guinness World Records during its sixth and seventh editions for pulling in the largest number of participating countries ever assembled for a SWAT contest.
