New Etihad Rail Sharjah bus routes and timetables mapped out
Commuters heading toward the desert rail hub have a clearer picture of their daily commute, as the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) rolls out dedicated transit links. Anyone traveling to or from the Al Dhaid Etihad Rail station can now coordinate their trips around three newly published bus schedules designed to bridge local neighborhoods with the emirate’s newest passenger rail link.
Linking Al Madam, Al Saja’a, and Central Sharjah to the Rails
The fresh public transport options, labeled ER1, ER2, and ER3, connect key transit points directly to the Al Dhaid station, which opened its doors as part of the wider passenger network rollout. For residents coming up from the south, the ER1 route links Al Madam Bus Station to Al Dhaid with a journey time hovering around one hour, including intermediate stops along the corridor.
If you’re boarding closer to the industrial and residential clusters of Al Saja’a, the ER2 service speeds things up with a roughly 43-minute trip. For those commuting from the heart of the city, the ER3 service bridges Al Jubail Bus Station with the railway terminal over a span of one hour and 42 minutes.
Departure times from the Al Dhaid station are structured to catch travelers throughout the day. ER1 buses roll out starting at 6.40am, with subsequent runs at 8.50am, 9.50am, and 11.20am, moving into afternoon slots like 12.30pm, 2.50pm, 3.20pm, and 5.00pm, before finishing the evening at 5.50pm, 8.00pm, 8.40pm, and 10.50pm.
The ER2 line from Al Saja’a keeps a brisk pace with departures from Al Dhaid at 6.40am, 7.55am, 9.50am, and 10.55am, stretching into the afternoon at 12.30pm, 1.25pm, 2.40pm, and 3.55pm, and closing out with evening runs at 5.50pm, 6.55pm, 8.00pm, and 8.55pm. Meanwhile, the cross-emirate ER3 line from Al Jubail operates on a more streamlined schedule, departing Al Dhaid at 6.40am, 9.50am, 12.30pm, 2.50pm, 5.50pm, and 8.00pm.
