Museum of the Future Stays Closed Until Q1 2027 Overhaul
📣 ARTICLE HEADLINE
Dubai’s Museum of the Future will remain closed to visitors until the first quarter of 2027 as teams strip out its original launch galleries to rebuild the interior visitor experience from scratch.
Closed Until Q1 2027 for a Complete Content Overhaul
Every original gallery inside the building is coming down. The 2071 space journey aboard OSS Hope, the digital sanctuary of Al Waha, the environmental displays at the Heal Institute, the technology showcase in Tomorrow Today, and the Future Heroes area for children are all being cleared out. Chief Operating Officer Azza Al Nuaimi confirmed that none of these original setups will return in their old formats.
Instead of updating individual displays, the venue is replacing its entire visitor route with interactive laboratories and new scientific research spaces. The goal is moving visitors from passive viewers into active participants working directly alongside current research. What happens to the physical structures of the original exhibits remains under review based on their condition and potential for reuse.
Staffing for the new setup is also shifting. A recent recruitment drive titled “Future Perfects” brought in over 20,000 completed applications within its first 48 hours for Visitor Experience roles.
The venue originally opened its doors on February 22, 2022, making the targeted Q1 2027 launch align with its fifth anniversary. An exact reopening date and ticket sales timeline will be announced closer to completion.
