50km/h Winds and Rain Hit UAE in Five-Day NCM Weather Shift
Drivers across eastern and northern areas should watch out for reduced visibility over the next few days as an unsettled weather pattern takes hold. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a five-day alert warning of rainfall, convective clouds, and winds reaching up to 50km/h, with conditions expected to last until Monday, November 2.
Driven by a surface low-pressure system paired with an upper-air system, today’s forecast brings fair to partly cloudy skies that will build into convective clouds over northern and eastern parts, potentially spilling over into inland zones with scattered showers. Winds are picking up speed across the board, pushing south-easterly to north-easterly at up to 35km/h along the coast, 45km/h inland, and hitting 50km/h in mountainous regions, kicking up blowing dust along the way.
Temperatures are ranging from 35°C to 39°C inland, 33°C to 37°C along the coast and islands, and sitting cooler at 26°C to 32°C in the mountains. Overnight humidity is set to climb, bringing a risk of mist and fog developing across coastal and inland pockets, particularly in the west, stretching into early mornings through the weekend.
Rain chances will keep popping up over eastern regions through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 1, with winds leveling out at around 40km/h from Friday onward. The unsettled weather will linger into Monday, November 2, bringing another round of potential eastern showers and overnight fog before clearing. Despite the wind and rain on land, sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea throughout the entire five-day period.
