120,000 Passenger Trips Taken in First 30 Days of National Rail
At Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station, the direct pedestrian bridge over to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station has seen steady foot traffic since the national passenger network launched its four-city connection on September 30. Between September 30 and October 30, passengers across the UAE bought 120,000 tickets to travel between Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid, and Fujairah.
Connecting Dubai Metro to Abu Dhabi Shuttles in One Routine
For commuters traveling between emirates, the inter-city link has reshaped daily transit options through direct local connections. Passengers arriving at Dubai’s Al Yalayis Station can walk across the covered footbridge straight to the Red Line, while those pulling into Mohamed bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi can hop on direct shuttle buses reaching Reem Mall, Yas Island, ADNEC Centre, and the ADNOC Headquarters on the Corniche.
Further additions to the network will expand access across the Western Region over the coming months, with new stations set to open in Liwa, Madinat Zayed, and across the wider Al Dhafra Region. Operations at the Sharjah station near University City are scheduled to begin in early 2027 as the final stop in this phase of the network.
Etihad Rail Mobility Executive Director of Commercial and Support Adhraa Almansoori confirmed that the initial rollout laid the groundwork when Abu Dhabi and Fujairah stations opened on June 30, before the September 30 expansion brought Dubai and Al Dhaid online to complete the four-city system.
