8 Strict Rules You Must Meet to Claim ILOE Compensation in the UAE
Losing a livelihood turns daily life upside down in a heartbeat, especially when rent and utility bills keep arriving on schedule. For public and private sector employees across the UAE, the Involuntary Loss of Employment (ILOE) scheme acts as a financial bridge during that painful transition.
Before any cash compensation hits your account, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) requires you to clear eight strict hurdles. Here is what it takes to qualify.
1. At Least 12 Months of Subscription
You must have been subscribed to the scheme for a minimum of 12 consecutive months before losing your job. You cannot wait until after the pink slip lands to sign up and immediately expect a payout.2. Zero Disciplinary Dismissals
If your employer fired you for disciplinary reasons, you are entirely out of luck. The cash support is strictly for involuntary job losses that do not stem from disciplinary action.3. No Fraud or Fictitious Employers
Claims must be bulletproof and entirely factual. Mohre will immediately reject applications involving deceit, falsified information, or employment arrangements tied to a proven fictitious company.4. No New Jobs During the Payout Period
The insurance exists purely to keep you afloat while you hunt for your next professional chapter. The moment you secure a new job while receiving compensation, your payouts are suspended.5. File Within 30 Days
Time is not on your side if you wait around. You must submit your claim within 30 days of your employment relationship ending, or within 30 days of a formal labour dispute finally being resolved.6. Zero Active Work Absence Complaints
An unresolved work absence complaint on your file will slam the brakes on your application. Workers flagged for missing work without valid reason must clear that issue with authorities before applying.7. Job Loss Cannot Stem from Strikes
If your employment termination ties back to a strike or a non-peaceful protest, you forfeit eligibility. It does not matter whether you personally caused damage or not; strike-related job losses are entirely excluded.8. Maintain Legal Presence in the UAE
You must keep a valid residency status to qualify. While a visa isn’t cancelled the second you lose a job, the UAE provides standard grace periods ranging from 30 to 180 days depending on your residency category, during which you must maintain your eligibility requirements.Loading more…
