Dubai National Month Kicks Off With Umm Suqeim Flag Garden And City Events
Down in Umm Suqeim, right in the shadow of the Burj Al Arab, the familiar green, white, black, and red stripes are back as the UAE Flag Garden marks its 13th year.
If you’re out on the roads this morning, you’ll notice the city shifting gears. Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, has officially rolled out a month-long “National Month” line-up running from November 3 through December 2. Sharp at 11am today, residents across the emirate joined in for simultaneous flag-raising moments, setting the tone for weeks of neighborhood-level events.
The initiative, launched under the direction of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, brings together government, semi-government, and private sector groups. Over the next four weeks, expect localized happenings ranging from the UAE Parade and the ‘Stories of Our Determination’ short film competition to build-ups for Eid Al Etihad. Brand Dubai is dropping specific venue schedules and event dates progressively, meaning your usual community spaces and access routes might see pop-up cultural installations as the calendar ticks toward December.
With events stretching across districts right up until December 2, residents can look forward to a packed local calendar celebrating the nation’s heritage and its Founding Fathers right on their doorsteps.
