Personal Flying Vehicle Unveiled in Dubai as GCC Pre-Orders Reach 600
📣 ARTICLE HEADLINE
Chinese mobility manufacturer Aridge presented its Land Aircraft Carrier concept in Dubai on November 2, 2026, marking the regional introduction of a dual-mode transport system designed for individual ownership. Personal vehicle buyers and private aviation operators across the Gulf are tracking the commercial arrival of a system that functions both as a road-bound automobile and a short-range aircraft.
Automated Rear Compartment Deploys Two-Seat Aircraft in Five Minutes
The six-wheeled road transport vehicle houses a two-seat electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft inside its rear compartment, allowing owners to park the unit in standard residential parking spaces rather than renting airport hangar facilities. An automated mechanism driven by seven systems and over 1,000 components executes the deployment process, while an autonomous docking system utilizing alignment cameras and height-adjusting air suspension reconnects the vehicle and aircraft in four to five minutes. Aridge Co-Founder Tan Wang confirmed that global pre-orders have reached approximately 7,000 units, including roughly 600 orders from the GCC market, with commercial availability contingent on type certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and finalized operational rules from UAE aviation authorities.
The consumer-owned concept marks a distinct approach from commercial passenger platforms currently being developed in the country, including the fleet-based electric air taxis designed by Joby Aviation.
