UNESCO Selects Emirate’s Facility as Global Benchmark for 2026
The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning named the facility’s library one of its leading practices for 2026, citing its role in inmate rehabilitation and reintegration into society. A total of 25 regional and international experts gathered at the two-day conference organized by the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research under the theme ‘Education in Prisons: A Bridge Between Policy and Practice’ to examine expanding the 150-course framework. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research Executive Director Dr. Natasha Ridge stated that the project evolved from a standard library concept into an expansive training system focused on personal development and skill acquisition.
