Ariana Grande Ditches Signature Ponytail for a Retro Bob
Ariana Grande has officially traded her signature high ponytail for a chin-length brown bob. The 33-year-old singer debuted the dramatic transformation in a series of Instagram photos.
The new cut features a deep side part, side-swept bangs, and ends flipped outwards. She paired the retro aesthetic with a white lace top, a pink ribbon around her neck, and her trademark winged eyeliner. Hairstylist Brandon Pietsch documented the change online, describing the pop star as entering her “bob era.”
This short cut is a sharp departure from the long ponytails that defined her look across various eras, including the high ponytails of her *Dangerous Woman* phase and the blonde hair she adopted to play Glinda in *Wicked* alongside Cynthia Erivo. After returning to darker shades for several public events, the new look marks a fresh style pivot.
Alongside the hair update, Grande is expanding her acting career. She is set to appear in the upcoming comedy *Focker-in-Law*, joining a cast that includes Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
