174 Officials Arrested as Anti-Graft Probe Sweeps Ministries
Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, known as Nazaha, arrested 174 individuals and investigated 454 suspects during a nationwide anti-corruption sweep last month. The administrative action directly targets civil service personnel and public sector employees across multiple government bodies following thousands of official regulatory reviews.
Inspections Targeted Four Key Ministries Over Bribery and Authority Abuse
Investigators conducted 2,662 inspection visits to process criminal and administrative cases involving allegations of bribery and abuse of official authority. The enforcement operation targeted employees in several institutions, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, with certain detainees released on bail while legal proceedings against implicated staff continue.
The operational sweep follows a series of systematic enforcement campaigns by the anti-graft body targeting financial and administrative misconduct across state agencies.
