83% Investor Satisfaction Pushes UAE Into Top 3 Global Living Rank
At the inaugural HSBC UAE Wealth Investment Summit in Dubai, fresh data revealed that local investors are among the most satisfied in the world. According to HSBC’s survey of 9,993 affluent and high-net-worth individuals across ten global markets, including 703 participants based in the UAE, 83 per cent of local respondents rated their living standards favorably, compared to a 75 per cent global average.
Local Wealth Confidence Drives Business Growth Across Dubai
That sentiment translates directly into day-to-day business expansion across the emirate. About 21 per cent of surveyed UAE investors are actively launching, acquiring, or backing a new business venture, beating the global average of 17 per cent. Financial confidence remains high despite broader economic shifts, with 87 per cent of local respondents expressing confidence in meeting their short-term financial targets and 81 per cent feeling secure about long-term goals.
Family dynamics and business building are closely linked in these figures. Roughly 32 per cent of local respondents planning a legacy intend to provide their heirs with capital to start or grow a venture, the highest proportion among all ten surveyed markets. Furthermore, 98 per cent of local parents already assist the next generation during their lifetime, primarily by opening professional networks (39 per cent), offering strategic advice (33 per cent), or supplying direct financial backing (29 per cent).
Craig Worobec, HSBC‘s head of wealth and premier solutions for the Middle East and UAE, noted that investors increasingly choose to manage international wealth directly from the country due to its established policy framework. Overall, 82 per cent of surveyed residents confirmed having a clear multi-generational wealth strategy, while 26 per cent stated that additional guidance on intergenerational planning would help them manage their assets with greater confidence.
