Why did DXB add the Smart Gates pre-check?
Dubai International Airport (DXB) introduced the Smart Gates Eligibility Pre-Check during its peak summer travel period, with daily passenger averages forecast to exceed 265,000. DXB recorded 95.2 million passengers in 2025 and is the world’s busiest international airport, so reducing time lost at immigration matters.
