DXB Introduces Instant Smart Gates Eligibility Check
Dubai International Airport (DXB) has rolled out a new tool for passengers to check their smart gate eligibility. This development comes at a critical time as the airport navigates its peak summer travel period, with daily passenger averages forecast to exceed 265,000. The Smart Gates Eligibility Pre-Check is designed to make the airport journey more seamless for guests, providing instant confirmation of their smart gate eligibility before they reach passport control.
The introduction of this new feature is part of Dubai Airports\’ ongoing efforts to streamline passenger services and deliver a faster, more seamless journey for millions of travelers passing through DXB. Developed in partnership with Dubai\’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA Dubai), the Smart Gates Pre-Eligibility Verification service aims to reduce uncertainty for passengers before they arrive at immigration checkpoints.
To check eligibility, travelers can access the Pre-Check service via \”Pocket Flights,\” DXB\’s real-time flight information platform, or by scanning dedicated QR codes strategically located across all terminals and gates. This service requires no app downloads, making it highly accessible. By using the Smart Gates Eligibility Pre-Check, passengers can confirm their eligibility to use smart gates before reaching immigration, potentially saving time and making their journey through the airport more efficient.
The rollout of this new feature is particularly significant given DXB\’s status as the world\’s busiest international airport, with 95.2 million passengers recorded in 2025. As the airport continues to experience high volumes of travelers, efficient crowd management and seamless passenger flow are top priorities.
