DEWA Bill Payment: Every Way to Pay Your Dubai Utility Bill
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) takes payments through its Smart App, website, WhatsApp, the DubaiNow app, banks, kiosks and cash machines. Online payments need a login with UAE PASS or a DEWA ID. Looking up what you owe does not.
Digital Channels
- DEWA Smart App and website (dewa.gov.ae): credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Noqodi net banking and wallet.
- WhatsApp: DEWA’s virtual employee, Rammas, can take you to payment. It still requires a UAE PASS or DEWA ID login and sends you to a payment gateway.
- DubaiNow: for individuals only. Log in with UAE PASS, choose Bills, then DEWA Bill.
- Empay UAE and e& money apps: other apps that accept DEWA payments.
- EasyPay: covers Green Bill, Green Charger, Estimate, Port Sale, KW Invoice and General Services payments.
Cash and Kiosk Options
- ENOC and EPPCO service stations, at the cashier or smart kiosk.
- e& payment machines across the UAE.
- Emirates NBD and Emirates Islamic cash and cheque deposit machines, including those in DEWA Customer Happiness Centres.
- Tayseer, which pays several accounts at once: create a reference number on the website or app, then pay at an Emirates NBD deposit machine or by bank transfer.
Pay a Friend’s or Relative’s Bill
You can pay someone else’s bill, in part or in full. You only need their contract account number.
Cards and Limits
DEWA accepts all international credit cards and all GCC debit cards. Apple Pay and Samsung Pay work with GCC-issued cards. Per-transaction limits apply and depend on the channel and your card issuer, so for a large payment check with your bank first.
Auto Pay, Underpayment and Reconnection
Auto Pay, authorised through DubaiNow, deducts your bill each month through partner banks. Overpayments stay as credit and apply to your next invoice. Underpayments carry over, and the supply becomes liable for disconnection. After payment, reconnection is usually completed within four hours. If you are going away, you can pay in advance based on expected consumption.
