Tesla will unveil its long-delayed next-generation Roadster on October 1 in McGregor, Texas, resolving years of developmental postponements. High-performance electric vehicle buyers and automotive investors have tracked the program since its initial 2017 reveal, when production deliveries were originally slated for 2020.
SpaceX Cold-Gas Thrusters Targeted for Texas Facility Debut
Tesla confirmed the date on social media platform X with a graphic displaying “Go for launch,” which chief executive Elon Musk followed with confirmation of the October 1 event. The presentation is expected to take place at SpaceX’s testing facility in McGregor, Texas, featuring a live demonstration of a limited-edition variant fitted with cold-gas thrusters developed in collaboration with SpaceX. Engineering on the vehicle evolved into an all-new carbon-fiber hypercar after Tesla abandoned an earlier build process that relied on Model S Plaid components.
The scheduled hypercar demonstration follows Tesla’s recent launch of public rides in its pedal-less two-seater Cybercab in Austin, Texas.
