180+ Tech Exhibitors Gather as 33rd ATM Opens at World Trade Centre
The 33rd edition of the Arabian Travel Market opens today at the Dubai World Trade Centre, gathering international airlines, hotel groups, and tourism boards from September 14 to September 17. The trade event arrives as the regional travel sector works through the impact of nearly seven months of market disruption linked to the US-Iran war, which has shortened international booking windows and altered traditional booking trends across the GCC.
Focus Shifts to AI Innovation and Rebuilding Regional Travel Confidence
Technology forms a central pillar of this year’s four-day gathering. The event marks the debut of ATM Travel Tech, a co-located show featuring more than 180 exhibitors from 30 countries spread across two halls. Within that footprint, an 850-square-metre Tech & Innovation Hub is set up to demonstrate artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, fintech, and green travel solutions.
Discussion on the Future Stage kicks off with a keynote from Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, CEO of AI at Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, focusing on how automated systems are altering travel management. Panel discussions across the week will feature executives from Sabre, Trip.com, Tripadvisor, Wego, MakeMyTrip, RateGain, and Visa to examine agentic AI, digital discovery platforms, and shifting supply chains.
On the Global Stage, senior tourism leadership will gather for the Ministerial Debate: Building A Resilient Industry Through Collaboration. The panel addresses strategies to stabilize regional travel pipelines, strengthen destination appeal, and reinforce the GCC’s market position.
Danielle Curtis, Regional Portfolio Director, UAE at RX Global, noted that while the regional industry has managed significant operational challenges in recent months, bringing market players together in person remains crucial for establishing new commercial opportunities.
The four-day event runs through September 17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together global airlines, hotel operators, and technology providers to map out the next phase of regional tourism.
