Fraud Reports Drop Across Dubai Following Joint Awareness Push
Families across Dubai are seeing safer digital routines this season, with Dubai Police reporting a tangible drop in fraud reports for 2026 compared to the previous year.
The shift was announced at the Dubai Police Officers Club during the ‘Aware Family’ Anti-Fraud Forum, drawing key leadership including Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Dubai Civil Defence Commander-in-Chief Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, and Dubai Land Department Director General Omar Bu Shahab. Officials credited the improvement in part to the “Be Aware of Fraud” campaign, a coordinated effort involving more than 25 government and semi-government entities aimed at shielding local households from evolving scams.
Protecting resident assets from digital deception takes more than standard enforcement. Major General Hareb Mohammad Al Shamsi noted that the dedicated Anti-Fraud Centre, established by Dubai Police two years ago, has sharpened local response times and tightened coordination with strategic partners to track suspicious patterns early. Coinciding with Cybersecurity Awareness Month and the Year of the Family, the recent forum delivered specialized awareness sessions focused on practical prevention measures for everyday residents.
