Dubai Police Issues Warning Against Fake Visa Ads

The Dubai Police’s Anti-Fraud Centre at the General Department of Criminal Investigation has warned residents against fraudulent advertisements offering work, residency, or visit visas in exchange for money.
The warning is part of the police’s ongoing “Be Aware of Fraud” campaign, which urges the public to complete all visa transactions only through authorized government channels or licensed service providers. Residents are advised to avoid dealing with unverified intermediaries and to verify any visa offer or procedure through official channels before proceeding.
Scammers are increasingly using social media and messaging apps to target victims, often using the names of unlicensed companies or impersonating official entities to deceive people into paying for fake visa services. The centre said awareness and verification remain the first line of defence against such fraud, urging community members to stay cautious and not fall for false promises of visas or jobs offered through illegal means.
Residents who experience or suspect fraud are asked to report it immediately through the Dubai Police app, the eCrime platform for cybercrime reports, or by calling 901. By being vigilant and reporting suspicious activity, residents can help prevent the spread of visa scams in Dubai.
