WTC Roundabout Bridge Opens Friday, Cutting Drive to 1 Minute
Drivers heading between Al Majlis Street and 2nd December Street will see their commute drop from six minutes to sixty seconds starting this Friday, October 30, 2026. Dubai‘s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is opening the fifth and final bridge at the World Trade Centre Roundabout, bringing the Dh696 million infrastructure overhaul to full completion.
Shorter Bottlenecks and Faster Feeder Access Around Trade Centre
The newly completed 1,000-metre, two-lane elevated link carries up to 3,000 vehicles per hour, funneling traffic directly over the junction. Drivers exiting Al Satwa, Jumeirah, and the surrounding residential corridors will gain an uninterrupted route toward Dubai International Financial Centre and Al Mustaqbal Street. Beyond the individual bridge, overall average intersection delay across the former roundabout is projected to drop from 12 minutes to 90 seconds.
The completion marks the end of major surface construction across the 5km bridge network, which transformed the complex junction into a free-flowing at-grade intersection. The surrounding project works already delivered four other bridges: a 1km, two-lane elevated stretch connecting Sheikh Zayed Road toward Deira via Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, along with two bridge pairs each spanning 2km that link 2nd December Street to Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Majlis Street.
This footprint feeds directly into the ongoing Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project, where crews are currently widening the corridor to four lanes in each direction alongside 1.5km of new bridges and tunnels. That adjacent project remains scheduled for completion in 2027 and is set to cut corridor travel times from 13 minutes down to six minutes.
