New Dubai speed limits hit 5 major roads on November 1
Commuters heading down Al Asayel Street, Al Mustaqbal, and surrounding corridors will need to watch their speedometers starting next month. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that speed limits across five major Dubai roads will shift beginning November 1, 2026, operating in both directions.
Cameras and signs adjust across key corridors
Crews will swap out physical speed limit signs and reprogram roadside speed cameras ahead of the rollout. The updates follow an engineering and technical study carried out over recent months alongside an international consultant, paired with the 2026 updates to the Dubai Speed Management Manual. The RTA and Dubai Police coordinated the adjustments to balance traffic flow with road safety, factoring in urban development, pedestrian activity, and actual vehicle speeds.
Drivers will see limits rise on three stretches and drop on two.
On Al Asayel Street, the limit jumps from 60 to 80 km/h between Oud Maitha Street and Al Meydan Street. Al Mustaqbal Street climbs from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street, while Latifa bint Hamdan Street moves from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Conversely, reductions hit Al Rebat Street, dropping from 100 to 90 km/h between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street steps down from 80 to 70 km/h between 2nd December Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Street.
Motorists navigating these routes should check their cruise control settings before the November 1 implementation date.
