70,000 Sqm Warner Bros. World Expansion Brings Harry Potter in 2029

Yas Island’s central indoor attraction is getting a massive physical growth spurt. Miral and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences have set a 2029 completion target to build three dedicated Harry Potter, themed lands inside Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
Yas Island Indoor Theme Park Space Expanding by Over 50%
The construction project will add around 70,000 square meters (753,478 square feet) of new space to the theme park, increasing its total footprint by more than 50 per cent. The bulk of that addition, approximately 63,000 square meters (678,000 square feet), will house Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest.
These won’t be carbon copies of existing overseas zones. The expansion includes world-exclusive Harry Potter rides engineered solely for the Yas Island venue. Alongside the wizarding world additions, the new build accommodates two previously announced DC attractions: Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away.
Currently, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi operates six immersive lands under its single indoor roof. Adding three more zones expands its portfolio, aiming to pull in international visitors while offering a much larger footprint for resident families.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, noted that the expansion marks a significant milestone in the ongoing development of Yas Island and Abu Dhabi’s leisure sector. Simon Robinson, President of Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, stated that introducing the three lands deepens the connection with iconic franchises while setting new standards for indoor entertainment destinations.
Construction works across the site are scheduled to wrap up in 2029.
