Fire Risk Triggers UAE Recall for 5,612 Jeep Wranglers
Trading Enterprises and the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism have launched a safety recall covering 5,612 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles from the 2021 through 2025 model years.
The campaign targets a specific electrical fault linked to the electro-hydraulic power steering pump, or EHPSP. In affected vehicles, the electrical connection to this pump can develop increased resistance over time. Drivers might experience a sudden loss of power-steering assistance, accompanied by a “Service Power Steering” warning on the instrument panel and a diagnostic fault code.
Beyond losing power steering, excessive electrical resistance around the pump connection can generate enough heat to impact nearby combustible materials. That temperature spike introduces a potential fire hazard and increases the risk of injury for anyone inside or near the vehicle.
The recall is being managed locally by Trading Enterprises, a part of Al Futtaim and the official Jeep dealer for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, in coordination with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s consumer protection authorities.
Trading Enterprises is reaching out to registered owners directly to schedule service appointments. If you own an affected model, you will need to take your vehicle to an authorised service centre where technicians will inspect the wiring and electrical connections. Any affected components, including the electro-hydraulic power steering pump itself, will be replaced as necessary.
All inspections and corrective repairs are carried out completely free of charge.
