Witkoff conveyed best wishes from US President Donald Trump and expressed gratitude for a ceasefire enacted during the visit. Putin stated that Moscow would do its utmost to ensure the safety of the mediators. The Kremlin separately ordered a three-day halt in strikes on Kyiv to accommodate the diplomatic delegation.
In regional developments reported alongside the summit, the UAE President pardoned Abdul Rahman Yusuf Al Qaradawi following a criminal conviction.
