Qatar Rejects Claims of Failed US-Iran Talks as Mediators Push Deal
📣 ARTICLE HEADLINE
Qatar‘s International Media Office dismissed online reports claiming Washington and Tehran failed to reach a deal, confirming on November 7 that diplomatic mediation remains actively ongoing. Energy markets and international shipping operators are closely tracking the Doha-led dialogue as Qatari officials work directly with both capitals to prevent regional escalation.
Significant Progress Reported in Ongoing US-Iran Negotiations
Qatari mediators are conducting discussions with officials in Washington and Tehran to secure a practical diplomatic settlement, moving to counter fake social media accounts that Qatari officials said sought to derail talks. Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani confirmed that Washington’s interest in reaching an agreement remains unchanged following the US midterm elections, noting that negotiators are aiming for a functional outcome rather than waiting for a perfect agreement.
The diplomatic effort continues against the backdrop of Iran’s seven-day proposal submitted in September, which offered to reopen the contested Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the unfreezing of Iranian assets and the removal of US port blockades.
