15-Year Jail Terms and SR1m Fines: Saudi Border Enforcement Rules
Transporting, sheltering, or assisting border security violators in Saudi Arabia carries severe criminal charges under enforced Ministry of Interior regulations.
Transporting or Sheltering Border Violators
Security Regiments patrols in Al Dair Governorate, located in the Jazan Region, intercepted a driver carrying eight border security violators in his vehicle. Authorities took all nine individuals into custody. The eight passengers were referred to competent authorities, while the driver was transferred to the Public Prosecution after initial legal procedures were completed.
The Ministry of Interior classifies facilitating entry, providing transport, offering shelter, or extending any form of assistance or service to border violators as a major crime that warrants detention and constitutes a breach of honour and trust.
Reporting Border and Residency Infractions
The Ministry of Interior instructs the public to report any residency, labour, or border security violations. Official reporting lines process information confidentially, and callers bear no legal liability for submitting reports:
- Dial 911 for reports originating in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions.
- Dial 999 or 996 for reports originating in all other regions across Saudi Arabia.
