AI‑Generated Deepfake Porn Now Carries Prison Time in Singapore
The Home Affairs Ministry says a new offence makes it illegal to produce intimate images, including AI‑generated ones, without consent, effective this Monday. Offenders can face up to two years in prison, a fine, or both; if the image depicts a child under 14, the court must impose imprisonment of up to two years plus a fine or caning.
Who It Affects
Anyone who creates, shares, or possesses AI‑generated explicit material without the subject’s permission is covered. The law also targets people who groom minors abroad and then commit sexual offences, especially when the victim is under 14.| Category | Penalty |
