SME in a Box: What the First-Month Numbers Show
In its first month after the June 2026 launch, Dubai’s SME in a Box drew more than 500 expressions of interest from small and medium businesses, according to Khaleej Times reporting of 16 August.
- Interest: more than 500 businesses in the first month.
- Referrals: about two-thirds were referred to partners for offers and solutions.
- Savings so far: an estimated AED 20,000 per SME. The report also cites 500 hours saved, but does not make clear whether that is a total or a per-business figure.
- Target: an initial ambition to support 400 businesses.
How to read these numbers
The AED 20,000 is an early estimate. DET’s own headline figure is a potential value of more than AED 80,000 per business and up to 200 hours saved, and the real amount depends on which offers a company activates. Interest is also not the same as completed sign-ups, so treat 500 as a measure of demand.
The platform has 18 partners across banking, payments, logistics, telecoms, HR and other services. The full list and how to activate offers are in our SME in a Box guide.
