Petrol and Diesel Rates Increase Across UAE Starting September 1
The UAE Fuel Price Committee has raised retail petrol and diesel rates across the Emirates, with the updated pricing coming into force tomorrow, September 1, 2026.
The monthly price revision reflects ongoing pricing trends across global energy markets. Under the newly issued tariff schedule, every standard grade of petrol increases by 20 fils per litre, while commercial diesel sees a 50-fil increase per litre.
Impact on Business Operations and Commercial Transport
For commercial fleet operators, logistics companies, and business owners managing ground transport, the update directly shifts operating expenditure entering the new month. The jump in diesel pricing represents the largest relative change on the schedule, moving from Dh3.80 per litre in August to Dh4.30 per litre for September. Private vehicle operators across the country will also see higher fuel expense at the pump for Super 98, Special 95, and E-Plus.
The breakdown set by the UAE Fuel Price Committee for the upcoming month is detailed below:
| Fuel Grade | August 2026 Price | September 2026 Price |
|---|---|---|
| Super 98 | Dh3.60 / litre | Dh3.80 / litre |
| Special 95 | Dh3.49 / litre | Dh3.69 / litre |
| E-Plus | Dh3.41 / litre | Dh3.61 / litre |
| Diesel | Dh3.80 / litre | Dh4.30 / litre |
The UAE Fuel Price Committee will evaluate retail pricing again at the close of September to set rates for the following month.
