Georgia's Summer Charm Attracts UAE Travellers
On the streets of Dubai, residents are gearing up for their summer vacations, and Georgia is becoming an increasingly popular destination. With its lush green environments, pleasant summer climate, and cool mountain air, Georgia offers a unique getaway for UAE travellers. According to Maia Omiadze, Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, “Summer is traditionally our busiest season for travellers from the Gulf.”
The ease of travel to Georgia is a significant factor in its growing appeal. Direct flights from the UAE and visa-free entry make it an accessible international destination for Gulf travellers, with local airlines operating approximately 49 flights per week between Georgia and the UAE. This convenience, combined with the country’s diverse range of experiences, from exploring vibrant capital cities to discovering Unesco World Heritage sites, is drawing more visitors to Georgia.
However, travel agents note that some residents are looking beyond the Caucasus region for their summer holidays. Destinations like Koh Samui in Thailand, Ubud in Bali, Kandy in Sri Lanka, and Masai Mara in Kenya are attracting interest from travellers seeking a different kind of holiday without the hassle of visa processes. Despite this trend, Georgia remains a popular choice, with a 3.4 per cent increase in visitors from Gulf countries in 2025 compared to the previous year.
As the summer season gets underway, Georgia is poised to welcome more UAE and GCC travellers. With its unique blend of authenticity, hospitality, safety, rich culture, exceptional gastronomy, and breathtaking nature, Georgia is an attractive destination for those seeking a memorable summer holiday experience.
