Abu Dhabi Police have warned motorists that stopping in live traffic lanes can pose extreme hazards, cause traffic blockages, and risk secondary collisions. Instead, drivers should move to designated emergency lanes or safe areas to avoid severe traffic hazards and collisions.
The warning comes as summer temperatures soar in the UAE, increasing the risk of tyre blowouts and loss of vehicle control. Abu Dhabi Police have urged motorists to take necessary precautions to ensure their safety on the roads. This includes using emergency lanes or safe areas to change tyres or attend to vehicle issues.
Abu Dhabi Police have also warned drivers not to leave their vehicles running unattended, citing risks of theft, fire, and child safety concerns. Motorists who leave their vehicles unattended may face a fine of Dh500.
