Spot Deepfakes And Scams At Dubai Police's Mall Exhibit
Shoppers heading through Dubai Mall this weekend will find a high-tech digital defense setup stationed right inside the venue, where Dubai Police has brought its interactive cybercrime awareness platform for the final stretch of Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
AI games and scam-spotting at the hub
Run by the Cybercrime Department at the General Department of Criminal Investigation, the temporary setup uses artificial intelligence and educational games to break down how modern fraudsters operate. Major General Hareb Al Shamsi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Affairs at Dubai Police, visited the platform to review the activities, stressing that public awareness remains the first line of defense against online crime as fraudsters increasingly lean on advanced digital tools.
Visitors stopping by the exhibit can learn how to spot deepfakes, protect personal data, and keep children safe from online threats. The initiative also ties into the wider Ministry of Interior’s ‘Safe UAE Through Your Digital Awareness’ campaign, which runs in cooperation with Dubai Police and the Dubai Electronic Security Center.
The physical mall exhibit wraps up its run on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Residents who miss the mall booth can still access awareness resources in both Arabic and English at https://ecrimehub.gov.ae or file formal cybercrime reports directly through www.ecrime.ae.
