Participating motorists who fulfilled the campaign’s requirements are eligible for a four-point reduction in their traffic black points after 385,700 individuals signed the safety pledge.
Federal Traffic Council Confirms 2026 Fatality Decline During Fifth Session
The figures and outcomes were reviewed by the Federal Traffic Council during its fifth meeting of 2026, which was held via video-conference with council members and strategic partners. Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, chairman of the council, led the session as officials examined the results of the campaign, which coincided directly with the reopening of schools.
The Ministry of Interior stated that the initiative was launched to encourage motorists to adopt safer driving practices and strictly follow traffic regulations, particularly around school areas experiencing heavy morning congestion. Drivers who registered for the campaign, signed the official pledge, and maintained full compliance with its requirements qualify for the four-point deduction from their traffic records.
Alongside the back-to-school safety results, the council reviewed broader traffic-fatality indicators for 2026, which registered a general decline in the number of road deaths across the country. Discussions during the meeting also focused on strengthening overall road safety and improving official responses to traffic accidents and emergencies through ongoing awareness initiatives.
