City Ties 8th Globally as Resident Billionaire Count Rises to 43
Dubai tied for eighth place globally among billionaire cities in 2025, hosting 43 resident billionaires alongside Shenzhen, China.
Capital Inflows Boost UAE Total Wealth to $201 Billion
The city added two billionaires to its population in 2025, preserving its standing among the world’s top 15 wealth centers. Across the wider UAE, five new billionaires established residence by the end of 2025, lifting the national count to 59 individuals. Together, these residents held a cumulative wealth of $201 billion, which marks an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year.
Major sovereign infrastructure programs and ongoing economic diversification away from oil created fresh wealth channels, pulling steady private capital into the country. Nationally, the UAE ranked 14th globally among countries for its total billionaire count. Across the world, the top 15 countries accounted for approximately 83% of all global billionaire wealth in 2025.
Across the broader Middle East, billionaire numbers grew by 5% to reach 254 individuals in 2025. However, total billionaire wealth across the region dropped by 4% to $0.7 trillion. Data from Altrata’s Billionaire Census 2026 ties this decline to soft global energy markets, where oil prices fell by roughly 20% over the year, the sharpest annual drop recorded since 2020.
Altrata’s findings show that local infrastructure momentum and non-oil commercial growth continue to draw high-net-worth capital into Dubai, insulating the emirate from broader energy sector volatility.
