UAE School Calendar 2026-27: Every Term Date and Break

The 2026-27 school year runs from 31 August 2026 to 2 July 2027. These dates come from the UAE Ministry of Education’s unified academic calendar, which was approved in February 2026 as part of a plan covering 2026 to 2029. Dubai’s KHDA has told private schools to follow it.

Who it applies to

Public schools and private schools that follow the Ministry curriculum use these dates. Dubai private schools were told by KHDA to follow the unified calendar, which is why several British-curriculum schools moved their October break from 19 to 23 October to 12 to 16 October.

Schools that follow Indian, Pakistani or Bangladeshi curricula are not bound by it and set their own terms. Sharjah schools work under a separate framework. Private schools outside the Ministry curriculum can apply to split the mid-term break between October and February, up to five school days in total.

How to use it

• Check your school’s own published calendar before booking non-refundable travel.
• Eid dates depend on the moon sighting, so the Eid Al Fitr dates can move.
• For the assessment dates inside each term, see our exam and assessment calendar. For which schools follow the ministry dates, see our Dubai private school guide.
