This strict timeline is a core requirement of the newly highlighted Executive Regulations of Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023 concerning Anti-Commercial Fraud. Issued under Cabinet Decision No. 107 of 2026, these rules are designed to clean up supply chains and protect consumers.
If the flagged goods pose any risk to human or animal health, safety, or the environment, the Ministry of Economy and Tourism or local competent authorities can shorten this 24-hour grace period, requiring instant removal.
Who the New Rules Target
The regulations apply directly to all commercial suppliers, distributors, and retail points of sale operating within the UAE. This framework covers both traditional physical retail stores and modern e-commerce platforms.
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism, alongside local economic departments, is actively policing these rules. During the first quarter of 2026, authorities conducted 10,023 inspection tours across the country, detecting 189 violations. The updated regulations give inspectors clear powers to seize, hold, and destroy non-compliant items.

- Stop sales instantly: Halt all sales and public displays of the affected items the moment you receive a notification from the Ministry of Economy and Tourism or local departments.
