Faster DXB Routes Ahead as RTA Align Transit Networks
Road corridors connecting to Dubai International (DXB) and the expanding footprint surrounding Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International (DWC) in Dubai South are undergoing target planning to ease daily congestion and streamline airport transit.
Seamless Transit Connections Planned for Airport Routes
RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer and Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths met to align road and public transport planning directly with aviation operations. The initiative targets immediate bottlenecks on primary routes serving DXB while laying down public transit infrastructure tailored to long-term expansion across DWC and Dubai South.
The synchronized planning aims to clear bottlenecking along key arterial highways leading into DXB terminals during peak flight schedules. For travelers and airport staff heading toward Dubai South, future public transport expansions and road upgrades are being structured around expected growth at DWC.
Executive leadership and technical teams from both organizations, including representatives from RTA’s Rail, Traffic and Roads, and Strategy sectors alongside Dubai Airports operations leadership, will continue joint planning sessions to synchronize ongoing infrastructure works with airport operational requirements.
