Drivers operating vehicles that generate excessive noise face a Dh2,000 fine and 12 black points, while unauthorised modifications to a vehicle engine or chassis carry a Dh1,000 fine, 12 black points, and a mandatory 30-day impoundment. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, director of the General Department of Traffic, confirmed that officers recorded 2,045 noise violations leading to 333 vehicle impoundments, alongside 5,690 modification offences resulting in 1,297 impoundments. The expanded acoustic surveillance builds directly on the legal framework established under Dubai Decree No. 30 of 2023, which tightened release fee requirements and impoundment protocols for severe vehicle violations across the emirate.
